Colin Cantwell, concept artist for A New Hope, will be attending GalaxyFest February 24-26,2017 at the Antlers Wyndham Hotel in Colorado Springs.  The announcement came via the artist and author's Facebook page.

"My first big convention is coming up. I'm a bit nervous but also excited. Hope to meet many of you at Galaxy Fest in Colorado Springs Feb 24-26!"

Cantwell is credited with developing such memorable Star Wars ships as the Death Star, X-Wing, TIE Fighter, the original Millennium Falcon, Star Destroyer and Y-Wing.  He also created the T-16 Skyhopper featured in a memorable scene with Luke Skywalker in the film.

Cantwell has several convention appearances tentatively lined up throughout the rest of 2017.

"This is my tentative event schedule for 2017. Thank you all for encouraging me to join this wonderful community. Hope to meet as many of you as possible!"

Can't make it to the show?  Cantwell has many items available for sale through his store.

"I've gone to the dark side. For the first time, my original 1975 concept prints are available for purchase. These sketches got me the job designing and modeling the Star Wars ships for what became A New Hope. Thank you all for the love and support. If it wasn't for the encouragement of those around me, these designs would still be locked up in my basement..."
